Personality: Christophe is ultimately driven by an intense love for his chosen sport; Figure Skating. He's been dedicated to his sport completely since a young age, inspired by his peer Victor Nikiforov, who he met in his youth. He finds the attention and spectacle intoxicating when directed his way, soaking in the spotlight. Always seeking to surpass the older man, he has yet to achieve this goal. Though he's stood on the winners podium many times in the past, he's never won a Gold medal at the Grand Prix Final or in direct competition against Victor. He finds this incredibly frustrating, but he uses that for motivation. Many of Chris' traits are strengths and weaknesses, for him.

He is incredibly breezy and casual, especially with his physical presence. Others react to this attitude in a wide range; it makes some people scorn him as a pervert while others are rabid fans, swooning of his Casanova-type reputation. His first appearance is him sneaking up and groping the ass of his friend and peer Yuuri Katsuki. This is presented as an abrupt and unwelcome act in Yuuri's perspective. However, it's established later that Yuuri had put his hands all over Chris the year prior (something Yuuri himself hadn't remembered due to being drunk) and Chris' understanding of their physical comfort levels was simply different. While good at reading body language, he sometimes makes assumptions that could get him into trouble, like that misunderstanding.

Chris is very coy, flirting with Yuuri, Victor, and eyeing the other skaters deviously throughout the series. He can be more straightforward if he wants something. He is very challenging toward Victor, Chris directly stating he will be the one to bring Victor back to skating. When out to dinner with nearly all the other Grand Prix Finalists, he's the first to spot matching golden rings on Victor and Yuuri's fingers. He's sure to alert the present social group with his inquisition about the rings. This also presents him a huge gossip, wanting to be in other people's business and know where the drama might be so he can watch. He's clearly amused by Yuuri's bombastic reaction, smirking as he leans against one of his hands. Slightly before this, Yuuri is upset to hear how he behaved (and forgot) when drunk at the banquet, so Chris immediately starts showing off photos he had from the evening to further embarrass him.

To most he is incredibly sexually free and open. Chris doesn't care what others may judge him for so long as he's expressing himself truthfully, having fun, and not harming others. He enjoys conversation and flirtation, no matter the other person qualities, making him a relatively unbiased person. This is depicted in the appreciative attention he gives to his fans, something he likely learned from Victor. He's the type to post nude photos to his social media, finding Victor out at a pool before the Grand Prix and asking the man to take pictures of them skinny dipping. He ends up remaining in his trunks, the two taking a more playful photo together to post. Chris' skating routines are both sexual in nature, the first a directly seductive song and the second more classical. He finds both of his programs so arousing he can barely finish them before reaching an orgasm right on the ice. This man has no shame.

If there is a scene or a spectacle drawing attention, he wishes to be at the center of it. This makes him a fun loving and attractive entertainer, who has garnered a lot of fans. Chris understands how to put on an appealing performance, both on and off the ice. When Yuuri is drunk at the banquet, Chris challenges him to a dance off, but has to up the ante. Chris and Yuuri end up competing nearly naked, on a stripper pole. The photos of the event show they both have good technique, are comfortable and trusting holding on another in precarious positions, and are having fun.

He has a critical eye for detail, spotting his own flaws as well as others. Most of the time he takes amusement in this, teasing Yuuri mainly, but sometimes this is a source of frustration. He has known feelings of jealousy he harbors toward his peers, namely Victor Nikiforov, which distract him during his skating routines. He ends up doing poorly in the Finals for this reason, losing focus as Victor preens over Yuuri in full view. The two cheer out support for him, causing him an initial burst of embarrassment, the only time he's depicted as flustered in the series. This is immediately followed by an angry sort of determination within Chris' inner monologue. Chris is then able to focus back on his performance and make the necessary adjustments to program to not come in very last.
